Dodgers are the favorites out of the National League at 11 to 2 betting odds with the Detroit Tigers listed as 7 to 1 favorites out the American League. Closely behind the two favorites are the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals listed at 9 to 1. ESPN2 News Expert MLB Picks Analysis: The New York Yankees were in dire need of pitching and they received a huge boost with the signing of Japanese star Mashahiro Tanaka. The signing of Tanaka closed the gap between the Yankees and world champion Red Sox who are also listed at 12 to 1. A.L. East division rival Toronto is listed at 40 to 1 and could be a steal if either the Yankees or Red Sox have sub-par seasons. The Blue Jays were decimated by injuries and still own some of the best bats in the bigs.
