Local South Florida boxing promoter Laura Ching keeps producing action-packed fight cards with bantamweight prospect Melvin “Melo” Lopez, 23-1, 14 KO’s, rematching Jesus Martinez, 27-11, 13 KO’s, in a 10-rounder. The event is part of the “Got Talent” boxing series that has showcased the best pugilist in the sunshine state. The 23-year old Nicaraguan Lopez is a quick-handed southpaw that will face a late replacement in 32-year old Venezuelan veteran Jesus Martinez whom he beat in a unanimous decision in March of 2019. Lopez engaged in one of the best fights of the year in late 2019 when he came up just short in a blood and guts war against top-10 contender Jose Velasquez. Lopez has bounced back with consecutive knockout wins but will face a litmus test against Benitez whose two losses came against undefeated opponents.

The co-feature is a crossroads battle between aggressive 30-year old Filipino welterweight Jameson “Bring Home The” Bacon, 24-4, 16 KO’s, against 29-year old Argentinian, Roque Junco, 10-6-1, 6 KO’s. The 5’9″ Bacon will take one to give one but has a long reach and a good uppercut against shorter opponents. Also on the undercard is undefeated Kazakhstanian cruiserweight Serik “Panda” Mussadilov, 7-0, 7 KO’s. The “Panda” is a 5’9″ 200 Lb. beach ball of muscle with concussive power in both hands. Mussadilov, 26, has knocked out all of his opponents within three rounds but his Mexican foe Daniel Najera, 9-5-1 4 KO’s, has fought as high as 220 Lbs. and will be coming to win. Mussadilov is a swarmer that throws lopping bombs over the top in a GGG-esque way.

Another prospect to keep an eye on is lightweight Cuban southpaw Frank Diaz, 3-0, 3 KO’s. The 19-year old Miami fighter Diaz is a skilled technician that is piloted by the well-regarded Jorge Rubio, former trainer of the Cuban national amateur boxing team. Diaz has laid down a pair of 1st round knockouts along with a 2nd rounder thanks to a booming left hand.
