Boxing News: Benavidez vs Zurdo Odds Movement

David Benavidez has seen a major surge of betting support ahead of his showdown with WBO and WBA cruiserweight champion Gilberto Ramirez. The Benavidez vs. Ramirez odds have ballooned from Benavidez -310 to -550, with approximately 68% of the betting handle backing Benavidez on the Benavidez vs Zurdo Odds.

The 29-year-old Arizona native Benavidez, 31-0 (25 KOs), will be making a massive 25-pound jump in weight to challenge the naturally bigger Ramirez. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Mexican southpaw Ramirez, 48-1 (30 KOs), has already fought three times at the cruiserweight limit and is expected to hold a significant size advantage on fight night. Ramirez officially weighed in at 200 pounds, while Benavidez came in at 196.8, but “Zurdo” could realistically rehydrate to nearly 15 pounds heavier than Benavidez by the opening bell.

Despite the size disparity, bettors have continued to hammer the Benavidez vs Zurdo Odds, believing “The Mexican Monster’s” relentless pressure, high-volume combinations, and punishing body attack will translate against the larger champion. Benavidez enters the fight as one of boxing’s premier pound-for-pound talents, currently ranked No. 4 on ESPN2NEWS 2026 pound-for-pound list. Ramirez checks in at No. 27 and brings a wealth of championship experience along with the physical advantages that make this matchup one of the most intriguing style clashes of the year.
