5 to 1 Boxing Odds underdog Krzysztof Glowacki KO’s Marco Huck to win the W.BO. Cruiserweight title

Expert Sports Picks: Friday night from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey heavyweight contenders Steve Cunningham and Antonio Tarver fought to a majority draw. Dibella Enertainment promoted bout was a tactical affair with Cunningham, 28-7-1, 13 KO’s, throwing more punches but Tarver landing the heavier shots. Cunningham boxed on his toes for much of the night while the flat-footed Tarver looked to counterpunch with his big left hand. The southpaw Tarver hurt Cunningham with a left cross in round 6 but the resilient Cunningham survived the round. Final scores read: 115-113 Tarver. 115-113 Cunningham and 114-114. Cunningham was -180 boxing odds favorite.

In a thrilling co-main event W.B.O. cruiserweight champion Marco Huck, 38-3-1, 26 KO’s, was dethroned in devastating fashion by unbeaten Polish contender Krzysztof Glowacki, 25-0, 16 KO’s. The southpaw Glowacki proved to be a dangerous fighter in the opening round, almost dropping the German in the corner with a left cross. The technically flawed but anvil-fisted Huck almost closed the show in round 7, flooring the Pole with a huge left hook.

Glowacki rose at the count of 9 and showed excellent recuperative powers, putting Huck on the retreat by rounds end. The spectacular finish came at 2:39 of round 11 courtesy of a huge left cross to Huck’s temple. Huck crashed to the canvas but amazingly beat the count. Glowacki followed up with a barrage that blasted Huck through the ropes, prompting referee David Fields to wave off the contest. Huck was up on the scorecards 96-93, 96-93 and 95-94 at the time of the stoppage. Huck was a -600 boxing odds favorite.
