St. Petersburg Bowl Picks Analysis: Central Florida has been more reliable while N.C. State has been more hit or miss. UCF’s stout defense should stuff the gun barrel of playmaking Wolfpack quarterback Jacoby Brissett (135.3 passer rating). Brissett will turn to a bruising rushing attack but UCF has grounded rushers with the fifth best rush defense in the nation. The Central Knights offense will counter with a solid signal-caller of their own in QB Justin Holman (136.7 passer rating). N.C. State vs UCF Betting Odds Over/Under is at 49.0 points

ESPN2 News Bottom Line: The physical Knights defense quietly has the 16th best pass-defense which will create nightmares for the flow of the Wolfpack offense. UCF has pounded teams that are not on their level defensively and that appears to be the case here. The Knights running game will outgrind the Wolfpack’s stout rushing attack in a slugfest. Bet UCF to win a battle and pull away for a late cover.
