About New England: The Patriots were gambling gold in week 1 with their straight up win over Arizona paying out $440 on a $100 bet. QB Jimmy Garoppolo showed why New England chose him the 2nd round 3 years ago with an efficient performance against an excellent Cardinals defense. A questionable offensive line did a sound job protecting the young QB and opening holes for 250 Lb. bruising running back LeGarrete Blount who scored a rushing touchdown. In place of the injured Gronkowski is capable 6’6″ tight end Martellus Bennett who grabbed three catches. The defense answered questions about their ability to rush the passer with 3 sacks against Carson Palmer’s quick release. The Patriots have a pair of stars on defense in linebacker Jamie Collins and cornerback Malcom Butler. The defense could be short handed this week without defensive captain and starting linebacker Devonta Hightower. Kicker Stephen Gostowski is the Tom Brady of placekicking on special teams.

About Miami: Miami impressed with a resilient defense in the season opener but came up short against NFL heavyweight Seattle as +10.5 point road underdogs. QB Ryan Tannehill still has not reached the next level as a signal-caller but the offense showed flashes of big play potential through the air with gamebreaking wide receiver Jarvis Landry. Tanehill will also be getting back a key weapon this week in #2 WR DeVonta Parker. Miami still has not learned how to protect Tannehill who was sacked 5 times against the Seahawks. Running back Arian Foster showed glimpses of his old self but is coming off a career worst year where he averaged 2.9 yards per carry. The defense looked solid across the board against a good Seattle offense but could be without impact starting defensive end Mario Williams against the Patriots. 2nd year kicker Adam Franks missed a field goal in the opener and head coach Adam Gase made some questionable decisions in his sideline boss debut. Dolphins vs Patriots Odds Over/Under is at 42.5 points at BOVADA.LV
