Odds To Win 2014 NBA Championship

Lebron James and Miami are the favorites on the Odds To Win 2014 NBA Championship

As the All-Star break approaches the linesmakers have updated their odds to win 2014 NBA Championship as Lebron James and the Miami Heat go for their 3rd straight title. Looking much like last year’s lines, Indiana, Oklahoma City and San Antonio are the runners up to take home this year’s hardware. All 30 NBA Teams have a betting line on them heading into the break but our ESPN2 News Expert NBA Picks team has broken down the contenders from the pretenders, along with a few longshots to take a flier on.  Odds To Win 2014 NBA Championship from BOVADA SPORTSBOOK have the Miami Heat at +225 Moneyline (Wager $1000 to win $2250)

ESPN2 Expert NBA Picks Analysis: Miami has underachieved despite their lofty status as the top contenders on the NBA betting board. The Heat look vulnerable, ranking 7th in scoring and 8th in points allowed along with their well documented rebounding deficiencies. Even though the numbers do indicate a drop-off in production, Miami turns it on when they needed, their poor 6-12 record ATS as double digit favorites as evidence. Betting against LeBron James and Miami is unwise but here are some other teams to consider. Indiana looks just as good as last year with the NBA’s top-ranked defense but a lack of consistent scoring is concerning. Oklahoma City could be the most balanced team with the NBA’s 6th ranked offense and 7th ranked defense and they already own a 112-95 win over Miami on their home turf.

Aging San Antonio appears to be be a bear market team with the wheels coming off of coach Pop’s bunch. San Antonio star forward Manu Ginobilli is out until February but even with Ginobilli the Spurs were smacked around by Miami in a 101-113 road loss. The Clippers are missing one of their best players in Chris Paul but a 100-104 loss to Miami at home is indicative of a team not quite their yet. As for the longshots, Houston quietly been playing terrific basketball and have great value at 18 to 1. Brooklyn at 40 to 1 is a sleeper that quietly has beaten Miami twice this season.
